Catastrophe Doctrine – HSU Che-Yu Solo Exhibition presents the latest works created during his residency at Rijksakademie in the Netherlands, an international project supported by the Hong Foundation.  This exhibition marks the first presentation of these works in Taiwan after a year of artistic research and production.
Hsu Che-Yu’s artistic practice focuses on the relationship between media and memory.  In his recent works, he employs 3D scanning technology to explore how imaging reconstructs memory, challenges perception, and proposes new modes of viewing.  This exhibition extends Hsu’s long-term collaboration with a scanning team, and draws from the team’s archival database of victimized children’s bodies. Through this, he re-examines the relationship between the soul, the physical
body, and the realities of catastrophe.
