Mr. Charles C.Y. Chen was born into an artistic family, with his maternal grandmother, Zhou Hongchou, being a pioneering Taiwanese enamel painting artist. Growing up surrounded by art, it became an indispensable part of his life.  As an entrepreneur, investor, and life enthusiast, he holds a deep passion for art, shaping his collection style with unique taste and rich life experience.  He believes that art is a window to understanding the world and a bridge that connects people’s hearts.

Charles’s collection spans both international and Taiwanese contemporary art, with a particular focus on emerging artists and an active support for works that embody experimental and innovative spirits. Among his collection are works by world-renowned artists, including Cubist master Pablo Picasso,
German contemporary art giant Gerhard Richter, American street art legend Jean-Michel Basquiat, contemporary artist Cecily Brown, as well as Chinese art masters Zhao WuKi and Chu Teh-Chun. These works are not only significant marks in art history but also serve as witnesses to his dialogue with art and understanding of culture.

Mr. Charles Chen believes that collecting is not just about possession but also about understanding and sharing.  Charles sees the true value of art in being seen and felt, rather than being hidden away in private spaces.  Taipei Dangdai is honored to invite Charles to share his passion for and vision of art with us.  Through these selected works, he will lead the audience to experience the charm and limitless possibilities of art.

陳致遠先生生於藝術世家，其外祖母周紅綢為台灣前輩膠彩畫藝術家。自幼耳濡目染，藝術成為他生活中不可或缺的養分。身為企業家、投資家與生活家，他對藝術懷抱真摯熱情，並以獨到的品味與豐富的生活經驗形塑其收藏風格。他相信，藝術是理解世界的一扇窗，也是連結人心的橋樑。

他的收藏涵蓋國際與台灣當代藝術，特別關注新興藝術家的成長，並積極支持具實驗性與創新精神的作品。他的藏品中不乏世界知名藝術家的創作，包括立體派大師畢卡索、德國當代藝術巨擘李希特（Gerhard Richter）、美國街頭藝術傳奇巴斯奇亞（Jean-Michel Basquiat）、當代藝術家 Cecily Brown，以及華人藝術巨擘趙無極與朱德群。這些作品不僅是藝術史的重要印記，更是他與藝術對話、理解文化的見證。
