TAIPEI DANGDAI VIP guests are welcome to visit TFAM’s current exhibitions free of charge during May 7-12, 2024 (A VIP card is valid for two people). In collaboration between TFAM and the Royal Academy of Arts, the renowned South African artist William Kentridge is coming to town. This marks the debut of the artist’s first large-scale solo exhibition in Taiwan, fully showcasing his creative career spanning four decades. A highly anticipated contemporary artist today, Kentridge is known for blending various multimedia art forms, including sketch drawing, video, sculpture, audiovisual installation, drama, literature, and performance, to bring about a stylized, idiosyncratic language, through which he states his insightful and dialectic thoughts on race, society, politics and other real-world issues concerning South Africa.
